So about the songs I've put on the playlist... Don't Worry Be Happy is the next best thing to Dad's version of "You can't rollerskate in a buffalo herd (but you can be happy in you want to)" Rick gets a laugh out of the kids when he adds the 2nd verse "You can't pick your nose with bubblegum on your finger....." Groovy Kine of Love is just a feel good song from those high school days and EVERY Playlist needs to have just one good old classic country western song. I spent many a night studying for college finals or writing lesson plans while being serenaded by my good friend Patsy Cline. Why did you pick a certain song for your playlist....I'll watch for a post on your blog!!!

BJ's OWIES
Britany has worked really hard this year to not only make the drill team but also to earn a spot in all the competition dances. This morning she came home from practice quite proud of her latest owie and requested I post it on the blog for her. Because this is an interesting one I said I would grant the request, she does have the wonderfull bruises on her knees but the "goose-egg" on her elbow is sort of freaky looking. I hope the pictures show it ok.

Its been awhile
So I know I've been alittle slow posting stuff. Some of you know that Rick and I are in the process of caring for his mom who is the late stages of cancer. She has been fighting for about 5 years now with some good times a some bad. Right now she has chosen to stop chemo because it was making her so sick and still the cancer was growing. We appreciate SO much the prayers, little notes, visits, etc from everyone. Rick's family has a website and he has a spot there that he tries to keep updated for everyone, we pondered a blog but where this was already set up and accessible to the family we went with it. Those of you who would like to know how that part of our life is going are welcome to go to www.thefamilypost.com/iviefamily. sign in with "straw10" and click on messageboard and then pinky's corner (yes, at one time Rick's mom was a true redhead!). This will give you access to alot of other family info, I have talked with the family and they are OK with other people accessing this for JoAnn, just be sensitive to their privacy too. We do print off the comments people leave for the kids to read to JoAnn so feel free to say hi if you would like.
